If you or a loved one need more care than you can get at home, it may be time to explore residential care such as an Adult Family Home (AFH). An AFH is where an adult can live and get help with care in a community based residential setting with 24 hour care and services.
Our AFH is licensed to care for up to six residents which we provide room, board, laundry, necessary supervision, and necessary help with activities of daily living, personal care, and social services.
We have been providing loving care for over 11 years, and we strive to make our residents feel at home and to maintain a level of independence. Our home is located in a lovely and peaceful cul-de-sac that is perfect for strolls and walks around. We have a maintained garden with various flowers and plants. For summers and nice weather, we have a private gazebo for the residents to enjoy lunch. We have spacious living areas and hallways.

- All of our resident living space is on the ground level, including bedrooms, bath and toilet rooms, kitchen, dining room, and living room.
- The property is flat to allow for ease of entry and exit from the home, including access to outdoor space and evacuation areas.

- Residents are able to access all common areas, including the kitchen.
- Our home’s halls and doorways are wide enough to accommodate walkers or wheelchairs.

- Our outdoor space is usable and easily accessible to encourage resident use.
- We offer sufficient outdoor space and seating to accommodate all residents who want to be outdoors at the same time.
What does the resident’s bedroom include?
- Has windows and door screens with quick release that do not delay the resident’s escape in an emergency, and prevents the entrance of flies and other insects;
- Has direct access to hallways and corridors and unrestricted/free access to common use areas such as the bathroom, living room and kitchen for all residents including those who use wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids;
- Has a closet, wardrobe or armoire for clothing storage; and
- Has a call system to meet the assessed needs of the resident if the provider’s bedroom is not within hearing distance of the resident’s bedroom.
